Esther Kalu is a Lagos-based culture journalist, writer, producer, and creative professional with a background in Mass Communication and print journalism. Her work spans culture, lifestyle, film, entertainment, metro, and politics, with bylines across Premium Times, The Nollywood Reporter, The Nation, and The Liberalist. Photography is her personal way of slowing down and preserving the moments that sit outside the written story.
Why photography
Photography began as a habit of paying attention — a way to keep what a story couldn't hold.
It is not a second career, and it carries no client list. It is the same curiosity that shapes her reporting, pointed at whatever is in front of her — a face, a doorway, a gathering — without the pressure of a deadline.
